Hello everyone.

I have this postcard from 1949.

Although the date of the postmark is unclear. it is most lightly 3.6.49. June 3th 1949. German Pfingsten reference which was 5+6 of June that year.(Pfingsten is Pentecost)

My question: should a notopfer for Berlin 2 pf stamp be on this card. As far as I know it was no longer mandatory on printed matters from 28.07.1949 onwards (July 28th 1949).

The postcard itself with Junkers G23, I believe is from the twenties.

Thank you for your response.

The card would no longer be "printed matter" since it had a personal message added to it.
This appears to fall under domestic airmail card rates and regulations.

Hi Johan,

Your card is good,

10 Pfg (full rate like John wrote) + 5 Pfg (Air) and no NOTOPFER since in BADEN (French Zone) the use of NOTOPFER were:

Between 01.07.1949 - 02.07.1949,

Between 17.07.1949 - 31.12.1949

And between 01.01.1950 - 31.03.1956. (end of use)
