This is a JNF label. The top of the stamp says Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael which is the Jewish National Fund.

JNF= Jewish National Fund.

These labels were issued as a means for raising funds. However, during the interim period in 1948, they were overprinted for postal use as per the violet overprint on bwdavis's example. So with the overprint it really should be classed as a stamp not a cinderella.

Thank you Clive. Again, I asked because we are an international forum and have non-english speaking family members. We should not use abbreviations

A pleasure Peter,
Even amongst English speakers abbreviations and acronyms don't travel well across international boundaries.

Have arrow, will travel!

My favorite arrow, the negative arrow in the FedeEx logo. I didn't notice this for a number of years until someone 'pointed' it out to me. Now, every time I see I the logo I only see the arrow!

The stamp in the initial post is a 'Bilu' Label issued by the Jewish National Fund in 1941. The 5 Mils handstamp is a surcharge to raise extra funds or it could be for use as a Tax Stamp on Official and semi-Official documents. A number of types were used for this purpose.
JNF labels used during the Interim period were handstamped 'Doar' (Post), the values only being handstamped on the 'Jerusalem' issues during the siege of the City.

I am blown away by the FedEx logo. I had not realized that. Very clever graphic design or pure accident?

Reminds me of the song 'Little Arrows' by Leapy Lee.

Intentional and clever; the idea was that people would take away 'forward movement'.

Baskin Robbins ice cream logo also has a negative subliminal message

At first glance, it appears to be just a colorful and fun logo. But note that they always promoted their 31 ice crème flavors so they put '31' (B and R) in the logo.

Some logos subliminal messages are not as obvious... like Amazon.

The idea here is that Amazon sells 'A to Z'.

Oops thanks LondonBus,
I just glanced at the fairly indistinct violet handstamp with only the 'aleph' easily discernable. And not previously being aware of surcharges on JNF labels automatically assumed it to be a Doar interim issue.
