Can anyone tell or show me how to make and use a steam box for the removal of the new Australia security die cut self adhesive stamps?

Any opinions on where this method of stamp removal will work on these new Australian die cuts or not?

Absolutely not, John.
These are self adhesive.
Only method is by "Bestine" (Bunnings "Un-do")
Expensive $14 a bottle.
Works well, one has to become deft in removal, Prinz long nosed pointy tweezers a must, to slip under self adhesive.

The new 8 slit re-use prevention are extremely fragile, and bestine is the only route.

8 slit re use prevention priority stamp, TYPICAL damage prior to even mailing, little bits of the stamp can come off on the fingers during adhesion.

Thanks Rod

We have also been very successful with UN-DO.

Got a phone call about the UN-DO method.(truly shock horror) Which really spun my wife and myself out as she took the call while I was else where.

This male person, no name given said that UN-DO was a waist of money that a steam box is how they are getting the new die cuts off paper.

If a steam box worked it would of come up here simple as that.

That is very disturbing.

I leave myself open to most things, perhaps a "steam box" may work, but I'd need a detailed explanation. I've tried the normal humidity style method and it had no result whatsoever, just a damp article.

This chappie is advocating illegal re-use of stamps.....a comment further down, suggests using a "heat gun" on the back of the paper to quickly release self stick...I have never tried that.

For self-adhesive stamps, hit the back of the envelope for 10-15 seconds with a heat gun. The hot adhesive will allow the stamp to easily peel off. No muss. No fuss.

Rod have tried a steam box on self adhesives some years ago as we were have a lot of trouble with getting the 55c era off paper and it turned into one huge mess that destroyed every stamp. Even tried different ways to apply the steam and every way I tried with this method it just totally failed.

The phone contact that I mentioned is really not that hard to do as many DL envelopes go out from here each week with my name and address on them. But it is the 1st time that SCF has been mentioned with phone contact.

Because the new $1 Australia kiloware is so hard to get. Mostly I am the only supplier on ebay. It makes me a target for the determined searchers trying to get around ebay.....Am not enjoying the attention!
