Hi,

I don't know if anyone can help? The stamps are on a hand painted Chinese postcard dated 1908 sent from Lhassa to the UK, via Siberia. Any information gratefully received.

Thanks!

I don't see anything to do with Lhassa. Looks like it's from Peking to England. Pretty nice.

There are clearly 2 different sets of handwriting here. Angle of writing, "S"s, "a"s and more are different. If that's a date on the back of the card: 30-11-(??), it's dated after the Peking postmarks 7(day)-9(mo)-??, unless perhaps we're talking of (hand-carried) transit of nearly a year from Tibet to Peking. It doesn't seem to add up.

Very nice card. That was quite a trip. Lhasa is in Tibet, and even with an elevation of 12k feet still has a amazing view of the mountains. Maybe the traveler stopped off in Lhasa to see this

@hy-brasil Not being familiar with Chinese symbols myself I'm not sure but the date on the back could be the 30.11.08 or 30.09.08 (Roman numerals for the month) unlikely or the 30.01.08 ???

As for the hand writing the front and the back could have been written by different people.
(not sure)
