I recently got a 2018 express mail stamp from an ebay transaction. The overzealous mail clerk used a sharpie across the stamp. Anyone ever been able to make a sharpie cancel more appealing so I can add the stamp to my collection?

I did do a google search on removing sharpie ink but the prognosis didn't look very promising. Thanks for any info available.

I've encountered the same situation. The only solution I founs was to cry a lot and throw it away.

No guarantee that it will work, bit try a q-tip dipped in acetone (nail polish remover). Don't press hard, but just rub it gently over it. It may make it more presentable visually.

Lighter fluid is not as strong as acetone (which may remove stamp ink) and it is somewhat effective...especially if applied within a few days after the marker.
