I am thinking about creating my own album pages using one of the online softwares. I am hoping to create pages for the First Issue, only, and order them by Scott #, so that each issue has perf/part-perf/imperf/silk entries together, rather than all the perfs together, then all the part-perfs, etc. I would like to have a color scan of each, as an illustration, and I don't know where I can find color scans of each. Not just one scan to cover all the 1c, but different scans for EACH of the different 1c, etc. I have considered trolling auction catalogs, hoping to find 1 of each in unused condition, but I KNOW I won't find all of them. Any advice on where I might find these scans in one place?
Thank you, to the three of you. I will probably use a bit from each of these. There was an auction with a bunch of plate proofs recently and I cannot remember whose it was - I THINK it was a Kelleher sale. There's nothing better than a proof when it comes to a clear, clean picture of a design. As long as they are not trial color proofs with a non-issued color, I should do fine.
Are there any other recommendations?? Might there be some kind of archive that I am not thinking of?? Any more help is GREATLY appreciated!
You can also use Google. Type in the catalog number followed by the word revenue, click on images at the top. You can then click on an image, and when the window opens, right click on the picture and select save image as.
