I've looked for information on the Czechoslovak stamp.

Russian tanker is shown on the bank of the Vltava River and the Prague Castle in the background.

In this place (Chotkowa st.) was hit by the first Russian tank T-34-85 who went across the bridge Manes.

Tank commander Lieutenant Ivan Goncharenko died in this battle in the day of victory on 9 May.

Perhaps the artist depicted the Russian tanker at this place in memory of the first who died during the liberation of Prague. Already in June 1945 was put monument for Goncharenko,

but instead of tank T-34 was set IS-2.

And one more detail: in really Lieutenant Goncharenko was awarded the Order of the Red Star.

Russia provides a fertile hunting ground for tanks on stamps, especially during the war years. Here's a sampling:

The 30k green stamp depicts a T-35 heavy tank. This tank has been described as a "land battleship": weight 50-54 metric tons, length 9.72 meters, sporting five(!) turrets mounting a variety of cannons and machine guns. Sixty-three were built, and were pretty much useless countering the German invasion in 1941. Still, a fascinating machine.

Enjoy, Robert

Alexey - Impressive research! Thanks.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting Polish soldiers and a tank in Libya, engraved and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & C., Ltd., and issued by Poland (Exile Government in Great Britain) on November 1, 1942 as one of a set of eight stamps honoring the Polish Armed Forces in the West during World War II, Scott No. 3K13. Note: The tank depicted on this stamp appears to be a version of the British Valentine infantry tank, which saw extensive service in North Africa (see photo below of a Valentine Mk. I for comparison).
