Hi Rod

If you can send me an email with images on of mystery stamps I'll forward it to my bro in law who translates Czech into English and lives in Brno. If that would be easier. Though there are a couple of Czech guys regularly posting on this forum I know, Florian is one.

Sounds great Crispin,
I'll send 10 or so through, see how it goes.
(I don't like to presume on members here, to do my work)

Hi Rod,

I can't help with any references for Czechoslovak cinderellas but I do have John Barefoot's Czechoslovakia Revenues catalogue from 2001 if you need any information from there.

I have a small number of British and American labels in support of Czechoslovakia from WW2 and a little later. I'll try and post these here.

Hi Nigel,
I have the grand total of just 4 revenues.

(The blue on the left looks like Pelure paper, or Goldbeater's skin )
The middle is cream cardstock.

Hi Rod,

I have about 15 mostly different Czech revenues and they are on all in the same design of the first three you've shown.

One of them is the light green freight supplementary tax in your catalogue scan.

The others are general revenues with stamps of this design first issued in 1919 and used until 1938. There are various papers and shades.

This series was replaced in 1938 by one of 23 values in the design of your brown 5Kc stamp.

I believe your imperf stamp is a cut-out from a parcel despatch
card (or something similar).

There's a tiny picture of it on a card in Higgins and Gage along with a comment that cards in this design had been listed in error as they had an imprinted revenue stamp(!)

Unfortunately the detailed listing for four cards like this has been deleted in my H&G edition.

Unknown Cinderella.
Unsure if it is Czech.
Looks like a Czech Christmas seal, (falling star) but the text seems to point to a Bohemian Beer ? "Bohumir Vyskovsky"

1920 Air Post. Steiner Page 30.
From my untrained eye, suggest.
Stamp 1 is a forged Overprint (no line above aviator's head)
Stamp 2 & 3 genuine.

Gee, thanks Postmaster. Nice work.
I wasn't getting much response from Google translate,
(Not on this one but others)
I was hoping the translating would charge hourly rate, I have about 40 cinderellas, hence my approach.
I'll seek out a Czech blogger if I can.

I've used this site with some success ... simply take a picture and load the pic .. the site will translate

CH,
Are you sure a pic ?
Looked like a type a word and translate site to me.
Cannot see where to load a picture.

Found it.
Not perfect, but I must say, I find that to be rather amazing ....
(I am presuming this to be an Agricultural Exhibition / Fair)

I believe the bottom line reads something like:

"33% discount on fare on Czechoslovak state railways"
