Thank you CJ, encouragement is like filling up with petrol, one can persevere with mounting, when sometimes it feels overwhelming. My Czech albums now number 5, Czech is a vast challenge. (but well within most budgets)

Beautiful collection. What bugs me in Steiner's pages is the blank space that usually is in all page. |

Kind words, thank you helder.
Presentation is a bit like Cadbury's Roses Chocolates, You scan the offering and pick your choice. There are a lot of Steiner Page decriers, and I understand that, The availability of choice, is a good thing.
My enjoyment of Philately turned 180 degrees when I discovered the Scott Postage Stamp Catalogue and Steiner Pages. (What a marriage!) Finally, as a Worldwide collector, I could place stamps in concrete positions, not entropy in thousands of vario pages, all jumbled. That appealed to my particular bent, to be able to sort, and within seconds, find stamp of interest on my computer.
My collection will never be more than a moderate collection, it focuses more on Volume than quality. But it's right where I want it to be, every day is a joy flipping through hundreds of my Stamp Albums
To see 40 years of Australian stamps, all in order, in mounts on Steiners in 4 albums is a particular delight.

Quote: What bugs me in Steiner's pages is the blank space that usually is in all page. Can you clarify the comment? Do you just want rows and rows on stamps with no spaces between them? Rod222, I would never call your collection moderate given the content is greater than any published album (stamps. collateral material) for the areas you collect. |

Dont get me wrong, I like the Steiner's albums. They are very helpful and well made! A great first step for organization specially when you are a beginner, like me. What I mean by the blank space is this one. Look this page has the space in the bottom which could be used to give more space between the rows of stamps. Maybe it is just matter of taste a guess... |

I think it's a function of the follow-the-catalogue, design-by-numbers that is unavoidable when making this number of pages. If you look at your sample page, for example, the third stamp on the top row should be in the centre, framed by the two shorter items. |

Maybe it is just matter of taste a guess... Helder, for your consideration. turn what appears a negative, into a positive. Consider using this space to add items, that bring interest and appeal to the normal "Here is Scott 22-35 " type page. Add a slogan postmark, a socked on the nose issue, a printed note on one of the stamps shown. A Specialists Catalogue reference. A "tete-beche " pair, A perforation variety. A picture of the Watermark. The option is endless, and can make a bog standard page "Your own" Canada 1938 Steiner Page 22 Huge space at bottom, filled with Postmarks for example.......... |

hi rod, thank you!
This is a fact of philately that I love: We always have something to learn.
Your suggestion is great and makes total sense to me.
Thank you again.

Long shot. Any members seen this type of Postmark before? Looks like a duplex, yet trianglation and numbers. TPO RPO strike of some sort? I have appraised all my stationery bits, and Revenues. Nothing like it. Sc#216 |
