Hi everyone, im new on here and in need of information, I have been given 3 unused perfin stamps still on the original post office backing paper. They all have the letters LW on the bottom of the stamp and not on the Queens head and are in a two coloured blue ink and are in perfect condition.. Could someone please tell me
1) Are they collectable?
2) What does the LW stand for?
3) Are they worth anything?
I will be eternally greatfull to anyone who can shed some light on them for me. Thank you in advance.

Agree with Don. Without pictures or a much better description (Value, which queen, etc.), we can't really help much.

Thank you so much for that info, so could that mean that they are a little rare?

It could do, however scarcity does not necessarily translate to value.
I could be wrong but I don;t see any great value, perhaps a few dollars to a dedicated Perfin collector.

Hi jagman,

My old 1998 Tomkins catalogue lists two possible users with this pin count known in the period 1945-65:

- Leathwait & Willing Ltd, London

- Littlewoods Warehouses, Bolton

This period is a little too early for this 1/6 Machin but not by much so I would guess it is probably from one of these two firms.
