I just did a profile update and noticed a warning about not using AOL. I receive anywhere from 100 - 200 emails a day on AOL. It is the only email I have or want. Can someone please let me know what the issue is? Thanks Paul
They will decide what emails you can and can't get. Sometimes if they decide the forum email is spam, they don't just send it to your spam folder like a normal email service would, they vaporize it. You get nothing and I get no bounce notice. Now Verizon does the same thing because AOL runs their email now.
It's been going on consistently for over 10 years. 75% of people that register here and the coin forum with AOL and Verizon emails (ignoring the warnings) never confirm their account. 75% of all email complaints here and the coin forum are AOL or Verizon customers.
You are free to use it, but if you have issues, I will not troubleshoot. Stopped banging my head against the wall over 5 years ago.
Bobby - thanks for the quick response. I want to make sure I get all emails. I really do not need another account, however, if setting one up specifically for use with SCF is there a preference? Thanks Paul PS: This may also be the reason there are issues with getting some emails on my Outlook syncs.
As an AOL user of long standing, I usually get e-mail without any problems. But I have a paid account. I would be interested to know if there is a difference in problems between paid accounts and the free ones.
My sister has a free account, and occasionally our e-mails take a while to get to each other -- which I find interesting as we are both on AOL.
