Picked this up this weekend.
Actually 3 of them...I think Mr. Coombs was a collector since he sent all 3 to himself.

And from my brief search, it looks lke he was a busy man in paradise.

COOMBS, WALTER ROLAND, accountant, Honolulu, T.H.; born at Bedford, Iowa, December 8, 1880; son of Lafe and Addie (Wilson) Coombs; graduated from High School May 31, 1897; married Genevra E.V. Hooyer, in Honolulu, July 26, 1906. In employer of Lewers & Cooke, Ltd., since 1904; came to Honolulu first on way to Philippines as State Volunteer, 1899; returning to Honolulu 1901; Chairman G.O.P. of Honolulu, 1914-15-16; member of Commercial and Country Clubs; Hawaiian Historical Society; Past Master of and present Registrar of Scottish Rite Bodies of Honolulu; 32nd Degree Knight Commander Court of Honor, Knight Templar; Shriner. I agree that it appears to be philatelic but it is very nicely done. I just looked up Honomu which is on the island of Hawai'i and found that as of 2010 it was very small with only 541 people in 143 families living there. I would imagine that ordinary non-philatelic mail canceled at that post office would not be common because of the small size.

I agree Kimo interesting stuff.
It looks like Mr. Coombs dropped off his empty envelopes at some great locations. Below are 2 more of the still sealed covers I have from two different islands.

Pearl City on the island of Oahu
and Kaunakakai on the island of Molokai

I found some very detailed information on the website below regarding the cancels, mail routes, etc for all of Hawaii.
