My husband found these perforation marks in a pair of Zachary Taylor 12 cent stamps. Does this add to the value of the stamps and if so does the community have any idea of the value?
they are called perfins (perforated initials) and are done so as to avoid misuse of stamps within a company. No added value, and in many cases decrease the value.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I would check around on the Internet and ebay because there may well be people who collect them in particular. Many collectors look for certain, "Fancy" cancels for instance.
