This possibilities are virtually endless. I have an entire stockbook devoted to mistakes and these are only the shiny gums except the 17 cent. The dull gums are even worse! 1/2 CENT denomination slightly shifted to right and left. 1 CENT missing in a few rows. 1 CENT missing top rows. 2 CENT missperf 2 CENT shift down and to the right into the frsme.
3 CENT printed on each stamp 3 times. I actually bought this is a local post office. 4 CENT printed on each stamp 3 times mostly. 4 CENT underinked 4 CENT sheet where the top row denomination was meant for the bottom row of the sheet above.  5 CENT fold over showing gutter and a few stamps fron the sheet below. 6 CENT missing tip of '6' on upper right stamp
 7 CENT shifted down and to the left 8 CENT block missing the denominations in rows 2 and 3 10 CENT stamp on right frame under inked. This is a fake, but it look kinda neat! 11 CENT denomination shifted up. 13 CENT denomination shifted up and to the left. Also, denomination under inked. 17 CENT denomination shifted up 30 CENT denomination shifted up into the frame. 50 CENT denomination shift up and to the right. The 'D' is completely missing in position 90.
Positions 46 and 52 the 'R' is broken and 'D' broken in positions 66, 75, 78, 83, 85, 94 and 95.
A number of letters are filled in. For example the 'D' in position 9 and the 'R' in position 39.
Also, parts of the '1' is filled in in positions 79 and 89.
The rubber plate was a mess! 5 DOLLAR showing various denomination shifts. Notice the color difference of the stamps of the top two plate blocks. |

Who would like to see the same thing for the dull gums? Of course without the 1/2, 8, 11, and 13 cents. Hmmm... |

These are some of my dull gum errors. 1 CENT 35306 Upper Left - denomination high and to the left 35307 Upper Right - denomination shifted to right - note broken 'c' in CENT on lower left stamp 1 CENT 37876 Lower Right - denomination shifted left and tip broken on lower right stamp 1 CENT 37877 Lower Right - denomination shifted to left and tip broken on lower right stamp 1 Cent 37876 Upper Right sheet - denomination low and shifted to left 2 CENT 37876 Lower Left - denomination high and to the right 2 CENT 37876 Upper Right sheet - denomination shifted to the left 3 CENT 37876 Lower Left - denomination low and over inked 3 CENT 37876 Lower Right sheet - denomination low touching frame 4 CENT 35306 Lower Left - denomination shifted slightly to the left 5 CENT 35306 Upper Right - denomination shifted to the left 5 CENT 35307 Upper Right - denomination shifted high and to the left 5 CENT 37877 Upper Right - denomination low and touching frame 5 CENT 37876 Lower Left sheet - denomination shifted to the left - note postion 100 with deformed '5' 7 CENT 35306 Lower Left - denomination shifted up 10 CENT 35306 Upper Left - denomination high and right touching frame 10 CENT 35307 Lower Right - denomination low and right 10 CENT 37876 Lower Right - denomination high and to the left touching frame 10 CENT 37877 Upper Right - denomination low and over inked 10 CENT 35307 Upper Right sheet - denomination higher in upper rows with under inked frame - note prefs touching frame 17 CENT Upper Left - denomination shifted up and touching frame with under inked frame 30 CENT 37876 Lower Right - denomination shifted left touching under inked frame 30 CENT 37877 Lower Left - denomination high and shifted right touching under inked frame 30 CENT 37877 Lower Right - denomination high and under inked 50 CENT 37876 Lower Right - denomination high touching under inked frame 50 CENT 37876 Upper Left - denomination shifted right touching under inked frame 50 CENT 37876 Lower Right - denomination high and shifted left touching under inked frame 50 CENT 37877 Upper Right - denomination shifted left with under inked frame 1 DOLLAR 35307 Upper Left - over inked denomination shifted left touching frame 1 DOLLAR 37877 Lower Right - denomination high and shifted left touching under inked frame 1 DOLLAR 35306 Upper Left sheet - denomination shifted left with under inked frame 5 DOLLAR 35282 Upper Right - denomination low touching frame 5 DOLLAR 37877 Lower Left - denomination shifted right touching under inked frame 5 DOLLAR 37877 Upper Right - denomination shifted to left and touching under inked frame |

postagedueguy, thanks for sharing. Thats pretty awesome. I especially get a kick out of the missing prints. I find it interesting that they would make it thru any sort of quality control. |

Since these were only utility stamps and not used or seen by the general public there was apparently only minimal if any quality control. |

On ebay now there are j99 dull gum sheets with the crazy 50 shifts all over...unbeknownst to seller, imo... I don't buy this material but just came across it. Not sure valuation on this material,but it's asking just over face. |
