Here is Scott 4905. I purchased a large lot of stamps and found this cover. If you notice, the tree, 50 denomination and the large leaf under the flag was omitted. Is this just, not enough ink or could this be something more valuable. Thanks for any help.
Interesting. It also looks like the wreath to the SW of the Red Flag is affected. There is probably some flaw with the printing process as the black is only partly missing, but it looks like green may be missing totally. Does anyone have an image of an unaffected stamp that they can post for comparison? I'm a long way from my SG catalogue and scanner.
My initial instinct would be that it has good "curiosity interest" for a collector of modern Russian / Soviet stamps but probably no more than that.
Thanks vayolene. It definitely looks like a green inking flaw in the SW and centre if the stamp. The date and CCCP are in the same color green, and seem unaffected. A nice piece to display with the normal souvenir sheet as comparison.
