This stamp was placed in water and placed on a black background.
I am not claiming that it is valuable. I am seeking the experience of this group to give any comment with respect to its issue date, history and type of manufacturing process etc.

It appears to be a perf 10 horizontal coil probably rotary press. Soaking in water is not the same as putting in watermark fluid so can't tell the watermark. It is likely Scott #453 454 455 if single line watermark or #491 if no watermark. A better scan is needed to determine the type, which separates the single line watermark stamps.

Thanks. It is a beautiful stamp and the red ink seems to have colored the white borders though you can't see it on the picture.The perforations on one side is fully red as though it was not centered properly and a piece of red is seen at the ends of the opposite border at the tip of the perforations . Looks like another stamp was encroached on.

Yes it is not a well centered stamp, and the red perf tips on the right are from the adjacent stamp.
ps. for identification purposes it is better to post the stamp right side up (not on its side), and for identifying the types of the Washington/Franklins, a scan is all most always required. On this particular stamp the cancellation may obscure some of the distinguishing features, particularly the toga line and button

Yes I got your email and replied. You said to post upright so I am trying to. And a better pic, so I 'm trying that too.
So I checked out your suggestion and it looks correct but I am just trying to now get an upright dry stamp post for better viewing.

Yes 492, my mistake with the 491. There are two lines of shading in the left ribbon, toga line and button outline are strong, so pretty likely a type III.

ikuna - I am not the one that asked you in this forum for an upright picture, I am the one that sent you an email thru this system and mentioned that I collect the Trinidad overprints. Maybe the email went to your junk folder.

I have the overprints, eyeonwall. I am not sure how to get them to you, anyway happy new year to you and all present here at Stamp Community.
