Scott 210 On Cover Is This Rare Being Used On Cover 14 Days After First Day Of Issue?

Is there a premium to add to this cover for being used so early in its production? Or is it still just worth under a buck?

EDU October 1, 1883 (FDC) exist.

How long did this stamp do service? The longer this stamp was in circulation, the more desirable an earlier date IMHO.

Leave the 10-16-83, I'd suggest it was written as a receiving date by the recipient.

Still a buck or 2 cover. At the time this stamp was a work horse and with millions issued so pleny of covers showing first month use. I personally have over 20.

My collection of the 2-cent 1883 is pretty good and has been exhibited at local club shows. In it are unused stamps and blocks, and many interesting uses such as combinations with foreign stamps and my favorite--a Seattle WA to Key West FL registered cover. I wouldn't put the exhibit on par with national showings, but it could become the nucleolus of a great collection.

Anyway, the earliest cover use I have is October 4th. Not bad, but not great either. To me, first week of use is worth about $3-$5, and anything after that is too common to get excited about.
