Hi All,
I'm Scott Payton, and joined this site back in 2013, but I was not much of a "participant" back then. I worked extensively with the late great William Weiss Jr. for a number of years, and after his passing, it hit me rather hard, and I faded out for a while. Bill and I worked on a number of articles together, and have been writing a book for a couple of years before he left us. I acquired Bill's reference collection just before we lost him. The blow was big, and I just had to step away from philatelic work for a while.
Through the encouragement of one of my long time "customers" and urging me to "get on with it" after three years, I am back in the field again.
Feeling a might rusty, but I am renewed to completing the work Bill and I started over 5 years ago now, and appreciate all the wisdom, guidance and encouragement that will come from being an active participant in this community.
Also, my thanks to Don Denman for pointing me at this forum, after asking him "where can I go"?
Cheers,
Scott

P.S. I'm "unusually" based out of Japan unlike most of the US experts.

Among the small communities and clubs on line this is by far the best IMHO. Welcome back.

Thanks Dianne. Feeling a little rusty, but it's coming back to me.
I'm sure I'll have my legs back in no time.
Already having fun with the Franklin-Washington conversations here!
Hi Rumplstampskin,

Hi Scott,

Welcome back to the pasttime. You've already responded to a topic of mine already, but it's always nice to hear the backstory. And I bet you have quite a different view of the world from your neck of the woods!
