Hey everyone, I just came across a Linn's Stamp News article that mentions the 2018 Harry Potter stamps issued by Great Britain have special features you can only see under a UV light. I did some more searching to see if I could find out what these hidden designs were but haven't had any luck... Does anyone know what they are? Trying to decide if I should buy the stamps or not. If there's a cool hidden effect, I might just be able to justify spending the money.
Didn't realize I had a friend who owned these (and thankfully also a UV light) and he just showed them to me. They're so cool! I'm a big Harry Potter buff so I have a lot of positive feedback to give the Royal Mail on these stamps. The stamps of the students/objects have different parts that light up under UV like wand tips, the Goblet of Fire, the Knight Bus's windows and headlights, the flying car's headlights, etc. plus there are little dots floating around everything like pixie dust/magic. The professor stamps with the Marauder's Map in the background have the hidden message that appears when Professor Snape tries to get the map to reveal its secrets to him (I was most excited about this) and it also lights up some footprints and Peter Pettigrew's name. All in all a very exciting discovery for me. I will definitely be purchasing these in the near future!
