although I am not certian you shoould keep it without showing the grey thing to us in greater detail at the top of the stamp

Spock that is ...what would you call it... when the stamp is peeled off and some of it's top remains on the envelope? the top section has thinned, and what you see above are little micro paper shreds. Is that very bad?

Thin spots, even tiny ones, are not good and will reduce value.

yes but keep in mind its all perspective if you get stamps worth $1000 for $1 and it has thins dont say no but dont pay 1k for it :)

oh I forgot if a stamp has thins thats ok from a collection perspective but if it has a disease then we are in trouble. just make sure the grey thing is not a disease

Thanks spock! Nope it's just, the new word for me, "thins".

However...when I look at the stamp again, only now I notice that's a figure of a girl with wings? it looks like theres wings there, used a magnifying glass and still not sure.... ???
