I had a stamps expertized and the report came back with plating information that I could not read as to where on the page it came from and how many known stamps there were known? Can someone read this and let me know what it all means? Scott # 11A, position 29L1L, color slightly sulphurized, used on cover with Philadelphia, PA cancel, genuine in all respects.
Your stamp comes from the ninth position counting from the left in the third horizontal row from the top of the left pane of Plate 1 in it's late state. Plate 1L stamps are common, there many thousands of them available to collectors.
Plate 1 existed in three states, early, intermediate, and late.
