Yes, you opt in. Since the USPS already scans every piece of mail as it travels through the system, they store images of the front cover. So you can sign up to have them email those images to you so you can see what is coming that day. It also has a link for feedback if you did not get something you were expecting. There is no additional cost for Informed Delivery.
