Like several recent introductions, I started collecting as a kid in the late 1950's, then put it away in a box through high school, university, Peace Corps in Colombia, and the early working and moving around years. The collection has been "brought out" and "put away" several times across the decades. Since 1974 I've purchased the mint commemoratives packet from the USPS every year so that part of the collection is complete. People who knew of my interest would save stamps for me, I generally have attended a stamp show most years, and have lurked around ebay now and again, yet most of what's come in is still in glassines. I'm not yet retired but I have a bit more time now and hope to get the collection organized and cataloged this winter, and start attending the local stamp club meetings.

I'm appreciative of the great wealth of information available on this forum.
