Thank you,
Robert

Opinion:
Forgery with hinge stain.

Not an authority on these, from what I have seen, I consider these all forgeries in my collection.

nl1947 has posted an image of a genuine 15c there. Note there is tremendously more detail in the design, the paper is not brilliant white like in the OP here, and apparently we need to count the pearls around the circle, with two types with a different count. Yow.

Hi

I cannot find the original post about Album Weeds. However, here is the link to download the book from Google Books:

http://www.stormthecastle.com/stamp...ged_stam.pdf

I believe your answer is on page 10 of the book (Argentina).

Hi Rodney

You are welcome.

When I was helping Gerben do research for Stamp World History I found all sorts of references.

Here is a helpful link:

Thanks FT, nice reference material.

First part of Reverend Earee's discourse.
Missing the other prints / states, but gives idea of the genuine.

I know there are other threads on this very topic, but I don't see a problem just adding mine here. Maybe what we need is an official "identification" thread fr these issues.

Here is mine for consideration. I've read some of the other threads and also the Album Weeds .pdf's. But, mine doesn't seem to match either the genuine ones described, nor the forgeries.

The problem with mine is that the cancel covers some of the parts that seem to be important in identification. As best I can approximate, there are 74 pearls, but that's about all I can tell. I've got a bunch of the usual counterfeit/"reprints" that are common, but this one stands out as being different.

Opinions?
