New to this need to know how to tell what this stamp is worth if anything

Well its in extremely damaged condition, so even if it were a high value stamp, it would still essentially be worthless.
In this case, it's also a very low value stamp, a Scott #300 "used" has a value of 25 cents, in this condition, it's best used in a craft project.

If you are new to stamps, I can't recommend enough, get your hands on a Scott Specialized catalog (even an older one from the past 10 years), these values will at least be a guide to you for what's high value and what isn't.
