I have a Sc #530 that has very thick paper, considerably thicker than normal and was wondering if this is normal?

Sorry for the delay in responding.

I included a full scan of the back and a close-up of a representative edge.




It feels like twice the thickness of a normal 530.

Just after posting this I noted that several perfs along the top seemed different to the eye so I took this shot too. Hope this helps.

I know measuring with a caliper has limited use but my measuring a 'normal' 530 I get 0.1mm and this one dresses out at 0.16mm and in the center (the widest) 0.2mm.

Thanks for the reply Dutch, but why would anyone go to the trouble to reback such a common stamp of minimal value?

Anything is possible Loupy. In this case it would have had to be done before the mid 1950's as it's been in a stamp book since then by a family member.
