USA Stamp Is It Good Value

It's mainly compensation for the time spent stocking such inexpensive and common stamps, and for retrieving it from stock if desired. If you were looking for this specific stamp to fill a hole in your US album, 25 eurocents really isn't much to pay for it. You have to pay something for it, at least a small amount, or nobody will stock them.

Collectors of used US stamps are happy to find a dealer (online or otherwise) that stocks common used US commemoratives individually, or who can fill want-lists containing such material. I know people who resort to companies like Mystic for purchasing individual common US stamps, and they are generally much more expensive.

I currently have a half of sheet of these stamps I've been using for postage.

Yes a traditional (a diminishing breed) dealer will want to charge 15 to 20c minimum but you can find many places where you can pay a lot less to almost nothing.

I notice that the pictured stamp has what looks to be a "Smoky Bear - Only You can Prevent Forest Fires" cancel.
It is a neat looking cancel if you get a stamp with the Smokey Bear portion of the cancel. Sorry I cant post a pic of the cancel now.

That pictorial slogan cancel with the tree stump is the earlier version of Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires, Smokie replaced the tree stump in later years.
