Just wondering how many collectors would appreciate another title to be added to the stamp forum..We know this great site may be able to bring the re-entries interests to more members.
This way Ralph from re-entries could address requests from members instead of being over run with huge amounts of emails sent to his web site...He is the guru for re-entries..His site includes BNA, USA and the world.
We (he) agrees maybe it should find itself under the title of "General Philatelic Discussions (Non Country Specific" with a title of "Re-entries, Retouches and Constant Plate Varieties"
Bobby13131, please at least entertain the possibilities.
Just my 2 cents, but I am not in favor of the idea. Plate varieties are now discussed within the current topic areas quite nicely.
Frankly, since I specialize only in U.S. revenue plate varieties, I wouldn't want to have to navigate a folder that dealt with plate varieties of all counties and areas. Currently, if I encounter a discussion of plate varieties in the U.S. Back of Book folder, for the most part it will be revenue-related (yes there are plate varieties in air mails, postage due, special delivery, etc., but they don't seem to get discussed frequently).
Also, if I do a site search for "cracked plate" or "double transfer" I can constrain that search to the U.S. Back of Book folder to limit my results. If we adopted the suggested approach, that would no longer be possible. The same folder would return results across all countries and topic areas.
I respectfully request that the suggested change not be adopted.
Sorry guys..Thought it would be a good idea..Back to the drawing board..haha
Robert
P.S.- Just a note..Ralph from re-entries.com is fighting a very bad cold for the past couple of weeks..He asked if I would mention maybe holding of on any emails until he gets better and caught up...Thanks for understanding guys.
