I am a returning US collector. Have the Scott Platinum Album (discontinued) thru 2001. Considering updating with the available Supplements. Not all are available but maybe could be found with some work. Also, considering moving the Schaubek US Hingeless from 2001 to current as an alternative. Any recommendations? How does the Schaubek US Hingeless compare to the Scott Platinum?

Thanks

to the Forum and back to active collecting!

I've seen the Scott Platinum and actually have one which I'm stripping out. While the ease of putting the stamps in is certainly a feature, I prefer black mounts as they show off the centering better.

One other possibility you might consider, especially if you have material which is not conducive to placing in a premade album is to design your own and mount the collection as you want, not as another publisher wants you too.

Finally, you have a third option for hingeless and it's probably the best for the price. This would be Mystic Stamp Company's Heritage album. I've seen then and they are quite nicely done. Again, though, it's going to depend upon the depth of auxiliary material you wish to add to the albums.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for the welcome and the advice.

What are your plans for your Platinum Album? I am actively looking for some of the supplements between 2001 and 2018. 2001-2003 and 2007 so far are elusive.
