I have never intentionally bought any US stamps, if I have them, it is usually because they came with a packet. However, I came across this nice looking block and am tempted to just purchase it as it looks really nice. I was wondering if they are worth paying USD7 for. What are they worth?

You can't get in a lot of financial trouble over $7. Are they worth it to you? My opinion is used blocks are under valued. If you are looking to make money off the block then no.

Are red cancellations common for revenue stamps?

Attractive but way overpriced in my opinion; this is one of the commonest US revenues.

The cancel here is either magenta or purple; not rare either way.

If the cancel had greater contrast and were easily readable, I would say it might be worth it depending on what the cancel is (I ran it through Retroreveal, but alas nothing readily discernible).

Hi revcollector, what would be a good red cancellation to collect?
