Need Help To Identify Mutual Insurance Company "Stamp"

Here's one that I can't find a listing for. McCurdy was president from 1885 to 1906. Any help would be appreciated.

At first I thought this was a NY State revenue stamp, but there are no entries for Insurance.
Looks like some type of Cinderella or Fantasy. Looks too modern to be 1843 as well...

I believe that it is some sort of Cinderella. The company started on Feb. 1, 1843 and I assume that it dates from 1885 to 1906 when McCurdy was president. What it's use was or purpose remains a mystery to me.
