DrewM, I'm happy to keep this stamp for sure. I think it's an impossible find at £150 anywhere else even with this crease.

pennyblackie: I Don't see a crease in your stamp. The pic is not clear enough.
Try making a crease in a piece of paper on only one side..(Unless it's a light fold).

Perf12, I examined the front of the stamp with a magnifying glass to see if there is a visible crease line but that did not show up. Maybe the magnification wasn't good enough? I am not sure if a crease can actually be formed at the back of the stamp without a crease mark in front.

pennyblackie,

I am not sure what I am looking at.

Could your stamp include a paper splice?

At 150, I'd have little to no hesitation. It is a nice-appearing example. I can't tell what is going on with it, but it hasn't been creased into spacefiller status, to my eyes.

I had a careful look at the front profile again and did see a very very faint crease at the NW margin. On a whole, it is still a fine specimen.

Sent images of the front and back to the leading authority on British stamps who said that they would retail a stamp of my condition (2 creases and a small margin below) at between £1000-1200. I am elated to know that! This is the back scan I sent in...

Perf12, I did contemplate returning, but decided to accept the stamp but negotiate a discount. I have dealt with this seller before, purchasing high value items.
