Those 109s on ebay are perfectly ok and include certs. I'd have no problem buying from Bill Lang, though I would definitely make an offer rather than pay his asking price.
Yes, William's prices are quite high it seems. I wonder if anything sells or what percentage he would consider to be a fair offer. It seems strange when you consider that everything he has at close to full catalog can be had elsewhere or at a real auction house for far less. Oh well, he must sell inventory or he would not be in business.
Most collectors start with the common and work up to the less common. So the buyer of the Special Printing will be older than the buyer of the regular issue, thus closer to quitting, this they turn over in the market faster.
