I have a question about breaking a great post or keeping the paper on
I might also get it off and mount the paper remnant under the stamp.
Again, I like the post it is complete and clear but will the paper left on hurt the stamp?

A follow up to this is about the modern peel offs, leave them on or take them off and if so how to remove the glue?
Thank you

Louise411, as for that particular stamp shown, are you keeping it for the stamp album or for the cancellation? That should be your determining factor.

If you are referring to Canadian self adhesives, you can soak them free in luke warm water. The glue will come completly off the stamp, but you must give them time in the bath. As for US and others I have not done any, but I would check out what rwandy mentioned.
