Very nice lot.
Mutilated Stationery Fragments.
Some of us collect them, and make nice additions to the standard Ceylon Album. (Newspaper Wrappers and Envelopes )
Alas! I don't think there is much value there.
I just purchased a lot of 18 mutilated fragments from Great Britain $3 + $1 ship

I know this is off topic a little bit but wanted to share something I came across regarding Ceylon and the JVP Insurrection of 1971. The item is a letter written during the period of the insurrection from a resident of the Capital to a friend in New York.

After reading the letter I was struck by how the writer closes the letter. Basically after telling her friend about the events she ends the letter as if nothing is going on and it's business as usual.

Off-topic, yes, but thanks for sharing a nice piece of modern history. The writer is very matter-of-fact.

I love aerogrammes, I get to read somebody else's mail. Just like postcards, or old folded letters sent through the postal system.
