I have been looking for #87xi (Unitrade) for years without success. It is the JAMRS flaw perf 12x14. The catalogue value does not hint at it being a rarity but why can't I find it?

Welcome to the forum JoeStamps...enjoy

The stamp you are looking for is not a common stamp nor a rare stamp..You just have to be at the right place at the right time..Be patient..

BTW..To make your journey even more frustrating, there are a total of 21 different varieties.

Now BNAPS has brought information up about a NEW find in 1989 with perf.14 appearing on left or right side stamp only...The believe some one on the perforating machine secretly decided to create a new variety.

But, be patient, you will find it eventually.

Robert

I prefer unused, LH OK, perfs clear of design all around. No creases, teas, stains, etc.

Joe,

Welcome. I only collect Newfoundland since the 70's. This stamp is out there, just be keep looking--on ebay (but be careful) as well as auction houses specializing in Canada and NFLD.

I also highly recommend you buy Walsh's Newfoundland Specialized Catalogue (PDF) as it is the definitive book. Unitrade is ok but filled with tons of gaps. Think 1st grade history book, versus university level. (hi john)

There is a 12x12 version of the JAMRS error. Mint might set you back $25-40. I got one in 2013 on ebay for $35. had to have

There is a 12x14.2 version too. I paid more for this--much more--but had to have. From Arpin

There is also a 12x11 version. I don't have

Truth be told there when you permutate the "NFW" and "JAMRS" and "ONE' CENT" (last one debatable), with the 3 major perf types, you end up with like 12 different ones.

Good one and thanks for sharing. What else have you for the community?
