Has anyone noticed posts disappearing after refresh, like not marked deleted, but actually vanished?

So it is posible rismoney was reading a post, but then the author deleted it. And after a refresh he does not see it. |

Rod, I checked every forum category (again), they all allow users to edit/delete their own posts for a short period of time. I also recall you mentioning that the YouTube link has been removed but I have no idea why you would be seeing this. Don |

Don, thanks for addressing my query. That's why I was not posting any more pages, I used to have a delete period of around 4 days. which was good if I made an error posting large pages, I could delete and start again. Being locked out is concerning. No Youtube option |

Hi Rod, email sent.
Please understand that we had to prevent user from deleting posts days afterwards. Many times people would delete posts days (weeks or months) later because they posted something that was incorrect and they felt it made them look bad. But doing this would often then break the thread; making it difficult (at best) to try to follow and make sense of the thread. This only made more work for the mods and also invalidated other members time and effort in replying to a now missing post. Rod,
Not sure if you've solved this already, but if not, you might try disabling any browser add-ons or other utilities that block spam, ads, etc. |

Postmaster, Agreed, I sent Rod the same advice this morning. I will share my 'IT wisdom' here in two simple points 1. The very first troubleshooting step is to always ask yourself 'what has changed since it last worked' 2. Fifteen years ago 9 out of 10 'help' calls I used to get concerned a virus or malware… but now 9 out of 10 calls I get are about anti-virus software interfering with the running of the computer
I verified that this is not a Rod/SCF account issue. But just like Rod's previous ACDsee issue, I am quite sure that this is related to his A-V software. A-V software is keeping the IT support industry strong! Don

Postmaster, Don, thanks for moral support, testing times for me, in the past 6 years had no problems at all.
Shall try the suggested fixes, I have ditched ACDSee altogether and found a viewer that does my needs admirably, sitting alongside Picasa.
"FastStone Image Viewer"
Ooops.. I meant "XYPlorer" ACDSee continued to crash intermittently. Sorry to be a pain.
