New Brunswick SC #11 Printed On Both Sides?

Hello forum,

Have had this stamp for a while and never gave it a second look after first seeing the back in what I had perceived as being damaged from an album page or what not. However, today I looked a bit longer and examined what appears to be a double printing. In one of the images I have circled the areas on reverse that make me believe it is a double printing. Or am I mistaken in that it is similar to flat plate printings where a sheet was placed on top of another after printing?

For it to qualify as being printed on both sides, the reverse image would have to be oriented normally. The image on the back, here, is in reverse. This implies it was made from stacking damp sheets.

Look at the eyes - I think its pretty easy to tell from just looking at their orientation and comparing to the front.

Phil_Atelic..To be printed on both sides, it would have to look more like the stamp below...ou stamp probably picked up what I used to see n printing class as "tacky ink" left in the tray too long.

Actually the stamp Robert is showing is not printed both sides. It is either setoff or thin paper.

To be printed both side the stamp image has to be the same as a normal print (not like it is in a mirror).
