My First British Stamps

Hello,

I collect czechoslovakian rare stamps (1918 - 1930). I have decided to buy few British stamps and learn something about them. In the collection were these beautiful 2d Blue (1840 - 1841).

I've already collected some of the information, but you as a specialized collector have an invaluable experience, so I'm sending some photos. Is there any good literature? Now I have a specialized Michel-Catalog. Do you think these stamps are a good investment?

I don't know how much you paid for these, udolak, but they are very nice examples. The first one with letters CE at the bottom, is an 1840 two penny blue, with what looks like three good margins, but cut a little close at bottom left. Stanley Gibbons lists this stamp at 900 pounds, with or without a Maltese cross cancel, and it looks like this one has part of the cross. The other two are the 1841 design, on blue paper and with a white line just above where it says Two Pence. The one on the left with letters OG has exceptionally large margins and lists for about 90 pounds and the other one with the so-called "ivory head" has good margins and lists for 100 pounds. All three stamps would make a very nice addition to any British collection
