I have never seen these before, not even at shows here. It is unusual for Cinderellas commemorating a centenary to be issued in Booklets.
Does the ebay listing state how many stamps there were in the Booklet ?

Mick aren't they supposed to represent the twelve tribes of Israel so it would be a four page book with three stamps a page I would think.

A 1969 issue from Israel reproduced Chagall's ''King David'' and a 12-stamp set released in 1973 depicted the ''Twelve Tribes of Israel'' stained glass windows that Chagall created for the Hadassah Hebrew University Medical Center Synagogue.

Yes, and they are lovely issues.
But I have never seen these Cinderellas before.

Been trying to find out more but no luck so far.

Londonbus1...will keep trying.

Yep, its a booklet cover, and four numbered panes of three stamps, depicting all twelve of the original stamps. There also appears to be an unperforated booklet, limited to 1000.

Phil - It came in a large accumulation I bought. It's not worth much, as it turns out. It's only half on one fold out pane.

Michael - I bought the one from the guy the other day. There's another for sale at $50 now: http://cgi.ebay.com/Israel-1987-Cha...nt_W0QQitemZ a href= /go/link.asp?target=https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/120303081462 target= _blank rel= nofollow 120303081462 /a QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1c029f57f6

Michael - the one I bought was from a guy in Haifa. I just found another for $35 from the US.

Phil, I am just getting started. I haven't even bought an album yet. This one large and one small accumulation I got from NYStamps has some interesting stuff in it. With all the time I had over the Christmas break (9 days) I just had time to get real interested real fast.

Now it gets interesting.
The links took me to two reproduction booklets.
Only one showed the panes of which there were six, folded. Each pane showed two repros in original colours and two of each of those in Pink/White and Blue/while. All are imperf.
The other only showed the Booklet cover.

Laswabbie's strip is not from the same booklet.
And then cjd says there is a booklet with four numbered panes of three stamps and also Imperforate.

It seems we may be looking at a number of booklets here.

And I still cannot find any info as yet.

Interesting.

Londonbus1...Not interesting, only confusing!.

Everything I know about this item (which ain't much) came from this picture and the associated ebay listing. Like the original picture in this thread, the values are lined out.

I better get back to my era now. I'm sure I can only obfuscate things here.

C.

Cjd,

Now things are a little clearer.
The scan shows a Tete Beche Booklet pane of 6.[Lovely I have to say].

So lets assume this is also found Imperf, it means there are [most likely] 4 different booklet types.

A lovely issue which is worth exploring [as a Cinderella collector that is].

So I'm off to explore, might need some help from an Israel dealer !

Londonbus1-

I took a short cut and only posted one scan from the listing. There was a second scan in the listing, with the second tete beche booklet pane of 6 (to borrow a phrase). So the booklet on offer contained all twelve stamps. (Just in case you took from my post that there might be a booklet of six, and a second booklet of the other six.)

The more we've talked about these stamps, the more I think I should get them. (The 1973 issue.)

Collin
