Happy St. Patrick's Day

I don't aee many post cards for St Patrick's day, so when I saw this one with an Eureka & San Fran RPO cancel, I bought it.

Very nice card. In the 1990s, The Irish Post Office tried successfully to re-introduce postcards. They issued sets of (say) six every year for maybe five years. They were actually pre-paid and valid for postage to any part of the world. Unfortunately this did not make them popular with the makers of traditional cards and envelopes.
It is a great shame that the Post Office stopped producing them.

I don't think that SPD cards were all that plentiful. I know when I got mine, I was thrilled! The card I started this thread is the only one I have out of the 494 post cards currently in my two county postmark collection. In a year, only three have been posted. Not a lot of Halloween cards either.

Alright so I took another look and found this one also. Unused but it's in a little better condition.

St Patrick's Day cards are my favorite holiday cards. And I agree with earlier posts that these cards seem always to be less plentiful than others.
