The most recent child's plaything (Spielzeug) illustrated on a German stamp was the rocking elephant of 2015.

A set of six DDR stamps of 1982 shows old mechanical play figures that can be cranked to make them move. This one shows the cabinet maker (Zimmerman) in traditional garb trimming wood as he might have done in 1830.
