I am not sure of the date, but I believe Tom and Jo Mills left Harmers about two years ago and moved to Nevada. It is my understanding that Tom went back to buying and selling postal history for his own account.
rog - I will back off- I've just heard some vague things that I can't remember well enough to quote. I'm certainly not suggesting they are in danger of going under tomorrow, only that things aren't quite as rosy as being suggested.
Did anyone have any success at Harmer's last sale? They have been sending me catalogs for years but I rarely bid. I decided to put in bids on 2 items a couple increments above starting and to my amazement I won both at opening price. Of course now I'm worried why no one else wanted these items. Can't wait to see what I get.
I bid on one item and managed to win it. There was some competition for that lot. Numerous lots I saw had reserves a bit too high for this market and were passed. I was not bidding on bulk lots.
The auction had technical difficulties the first day, starting an hour late. I'm not sure what the issue was.
