Hello

On these stamps what would the correct label be Bavaria Or is it Bayern or Occupied Germany.

Some seem to be good they came from a Album from the early 1950's and the large mark stamp has a hole punched in 1 and partial in another

And what would a good asking price be for the lot

Thanks

They're a mixture of Bavaria, the short-lived Bavarian Free State and Bavarian stamps overprinted for wider use in Germany. There are no occupation stamps.

Bavaria is the common name in the english speaking world. Until 1918 it was an independent kingdom, but politically within Germany. In 1920 the bavarian post service 2transferred its postal rights to the Reichspost for the sum of 620,000,000 marks, since when it has usedstamps of the Germany area" Sutton, R. The 3 Mark light blue "Genius" stamp appears to be a type II overprint (Michel). These carry a nice premium; they are listed at 100 euros in Michel. However, this one appears to be a bit damaged, or it has perforation bent back on the left.

The "R" of Reich is flat across the top on type II's, whereas the type I's have a notch at the left.

These are often "homemade" faked, so the area in question requires close scrutiny.

Kscannons, your sideways scan is useful, but I still cannot tell if it is type II, or a cleverly manipulated type I. It is one of those situations where you have to have the item in hand and examine it under close magnification, then with light hitting the surface at oblique angles, and with longwave and shortwave uv light.

Over the years, I have been "had" several times by skilled fakers, so I never take anything for granted.

I Understand what your talking about Book This album is or was part of another one and I think the previous owner was a better collector even tho the pages in this are home punched holes for the scott blue album and the pages are all browned and some foxed a real crappy looking pages and the hinges are the older ones and almost all of the stamps in the first third of the album are gone hings lifted so they were their. But none of the stamps that I could see are from later than 1954 and towards the back the pages are full like the Wertenberg stamp and others that do have some better value than even nice album pages

So that was why why I posted them on FB I said I was shocked to see the Bayern & the Danzig stamps so full and the Danzigs cancels look good nothing valuable but it adds up

I'm waiting till I get to a 100 post so I can sell the stamps I don't need I have more than a few.But if people are serious about buying stamps I would send them to look at and if they are happy they usually pay.

And to be quit honest about this album I only paid I think $3.09 but 0 shipping on ebay because of the way it looked and the pictures sucked badly but I got it for the German State stamps because I recognised the circles and colors from the thurns.
series

I don't buy lottery tickets nor drink so why not

Thanks Austin
