There's yearly stamps issued for Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa etc... How about a stamp(s) to commemorate Major League Baseball's Opening Day? Maybe they could offer special cancellations outside each stadium? They could feature the home team's logo. The possibilities are limited!!!

As I'm a huge baseball fan, I wouldn't mind seeing a stamp celebrating opening day but I would draw the line at alowing team logos on the stamps. They are, after all, commercial entities. What would be next....Coke or Pepsi stamps, Microsoft or Apple stamps, Ford or Chevy stamps?

Genius!! Post office could charge firms for placing their logos on stamps to offset post office's deficit and limit postage rate increases. Perhaps there could be naming rights for various post offices like various stadiums around the country. Apple Post Office at Cupertino?

There are already a huge number of baseball stamps just in the US alone. Much as I love the game, do we really need a generic one too?

With personalized stamps now being a reality, anyone can make their own baseball stamps through the USPS, or through a third party vendor such as Shutterfly.

In this case, an individual should always be mindful of any possible copyright infringement.

Baseball would make a great thematic collection. Many countries issued stamps related to this sport. Thinking not only about USA but also the Philippines, Cuba and Central America. I'm no more a baseball fan since the Expos moved from Montreal to Washington. I remember the Olympic stadium with the huge crowds. Great memories. Daniel

I suspect it would be the other way around: team organizations charging the USPS for the use of their copy-righted images.
