Can someone recommend a few dealers that might have a good stock on British commonwealth stamps? I'm having a very difficult time finding a KGVI Solomon islands stamp.

Try my site - kgvistamps.com.

www.kgvistamps.com

I carry a full selection of British Colonies with emphasis on King George VI. You will find the King George VI listings by Commonwealth, Gibbons and Scott numbers. The earlier and later issues are listed by Gibbons and Scott numbers. Currently, there are over 38,000 individual stamp listings on my site.

There are no pictures, but after you make your selection, I scan the stamps so you can see exactly what you will be getting prior to payment and shipment. I also will send stamps on approval to U.S. based APS members.

While you are there, check out my educational sections. I have 185 web pages showing various KEVII, KGVI and KGV sets. I also have a section showing catalog listed flaws - primarily from the King George VI era.

Hi KGVI,
I see that you are in IL. Are you coming for the plymouth show in michigan-April 13, 14? I know some collectors in west suburban stamp club focus on british commonwealth.

Floortrader - no that wasn't me. Are you talking about Len Farrell? I buy collections from him from time to time.

AravindMichigan - no, I don't do any shows. My business is internet based only. So I won't be seeing you there.

Another option, that I've used with success, is Crown Colony Stamps in TX. Larry Martin is the owner and he does a lot of shows. He can send you a PDF of his current stock.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately no joy in finding my stamp. The one I'm looking for is the 1939 Brithis Solomon Islands 4 1/2 d , KGVI SG266 which seems to be an elusive stamp. It's the only one left to complete my set. I'm not about to purchase the complete set for a $7 stamp

I have it listed on my website for $5.00 in LH condition, or for $3.00 in Hinged condition.
The reason you can't find it is because you are looking for the wrong number. It is SG 66, not SG 266.

Floortrader - I am sorry to hear Len retired. I hope his health is okay.
I always enjoyed seeing him at the various shows.
Do you plan to sell his inventory at shows, or on-line?
