FORWARDED BY
BARING BROTHERS CO. LIMITED LONDON

Are forwarding markings this late (1908) collected with much interest?
Does this specific marking have any catalog reference number?

As Forwarding Agents go, Baring Brothers is relatively common. Their markings are known as early as the 1830s and continued well into the 20th Century. These markings are collected, but are more desirable with more exotic usages.

This item would likely more suit a collector of the 2-cent Washington than a forwarding marking collector.

I think it's pretty cool that the card was printed in Germany, shipped to the US, posted in Providence, shipped to England, then forwarded back Germany. Small world even back in 1908.

Also, I'd love to see the chairs on the other side of the card.

Moschophoros: Here's the chairs, none look that comfortable, but those were different times.

Haha. Not at all what I had pictured. The sentiment of sitting down together is nice, and the fireplace.
