Found a link to this forum by accident while browsing. Lurked for a while and like the atmosphere and knowledgable people so here I am. My children tell their friends I am "very old". My wife is a nonagenarian and Lord willing next year I'll be one also. We enjoy our retirement home here in SW Florida.
Been a worldwide collector for about 80 years. Am not generally a "joiner" so I surprised myself by registering here on this forum.
Twenty years ago I sold or gave away everything except my US. Now paring my US down to Sc #1-39 (have all but Sc 5&6), Pictorials, Columbians, Trans-Miss and PanAms. My eyes do tricks on me on most of the other 19thC stamps so I concentrate on what I like and that with which I am most familiar.
Lots of stuff to get rid of since none of the children, grands or greats have shown an interest which means I have plenty of stamps to sort, examine, catalog and prepare for disposal. Need wisdom and discernment as to how best to do that so I plan to listen closely for those who express the good, bad and ugly of their experiences.
Nice to be here and looking forward to visiting with many of you.
