This appears to be a type I imperf paste up, but I'm not finding any such option in Scott. What am I missing? Single line watermark is evident on both stamps. The only imperf coil listed is 459 but that is described as a "horizontal coil" and this is vertical. Did someone just glue two 409s together?

"Imperforate Flat Plate Coil Stamps" appear immediately after the section on Vending and Affixing Machine Perforations in the Scott Specialized catalog.

Yes, this is how the early coils were made, by pasteups.

If you have the Scott U.S. Specialized Catalog, look in the Table of Contents and find the listing for "Imperforate Flat Plate
Coil Stamps". You'll find your pair listed there. Opps..John beat me to it.
