Does anyone actually buy this type of garbage?

I hope not.

His feedback shows that 3 of these have been sold in the last 6 months. Positive feedback left in each case.

He makes no bones about these being facsimiles and fun. Framed up nicely it would probably make an interesting talking piece in one's den/study/library.

These look similar to the ebay "Hialeah" forgeries which caused a stir a few years ago.

Copyright infringement? Reproduction of federal stamps is illegal, isn't it?

After a set time copy right disappears?

Had to go though the process when I wanted a block of 20 Aus KGV's on a Australia personalised stamp. There was no rules in place stop me. A very easy decision situation. The personised stamp printer got an answer in minutes.Got my block of 20 on my stamp.

If I'm not mistaken copyright is good for 99 years in the US. Weren't all US stamps issued prior to the Civil War repudiated?

Found this online

Interesting link. I had heard that during that era the North recognized stamps could be a potential source of income for the South and took steps to prevent it. Your link gives a great explanation of the process. I have to take another look at my cover collection for Postmark dates.

It is an interesting question as to at what point you are breaking the law at least technically. If you created photocopied sheets of 1990's stamps I do not think that it would be looked upon with forgiveness.
